Academic Instruction

Institució Turó belongs to the Institució Familiar d'Educació, an educational group that currently has thirteen schools in Catalonia and the Balearic Islands, with over 8,000 students and 700 education professionals who attend to over 5,000 families everyday.

Institució Familiar d'Educació was born in 1969 out of the initiative of a group of families that wanted to promote and manage schools in Catalonia which would offer a high-quality educational model.

​Our education system is built around 3 cornerstones:

(1) a solid academic background in the scientific, technical and humanistic areas; (2) good personal development training based on values such as freedom, effort, optimism, solidarity and respect for others; (3) and Christian instruction for those parents and students who wish to pursue it.

Football Opportunities

The academic program will attempt to register the player in the Federated League, but this cannot be guaranteed, therefore the playing opportunity will include the following:

(*)According to FIFA regulations, it is very difficult for a minor player to obtain a federated license to compete in the Federation League. We will take the necessary steps to obtain approval from FIFA but, the final decision rests with FIFA, it is in FIFA's hands to accept or refuse the license.  We cannot guarantee acceptance, but we will carry out the necessary procedures.

PROGRAMS FOR 18+

Academic Instruction

  1. Spanish or Catalonian Language Studies: Study in Spain and immerse yourself in the rich cultural traditions and creative cities of one of Europe’s most vibrant nations.  Study in Spain for an extended period and you’ll go beyond tourism to discover a country blending a proud heritage with an ambitious present. 
  2. UEFA Coaching Certification + Spanish Language School:  FCF has provided that Institució Turó can provide these courses. Students will have to have completed 10th  year (10th grade) and validate that transcript with the Spanish Department of Education or Ministry of Education.

Campus
Pathfinder is located in the heart of Catalonia Spain along the Mediterranean coast in the European city center of Tarragona.  The city setting ensures that there are ample activities for players to experience life year round in Spain off the pitch. 
Residence
Player double accommodations provide ample space and comfort.  Each room has kitchenette, private bathroom, a table /desk.  Wi-Fi, all utilities, and AC are included. Coin laundry is available onsite. Sheets and towels are provided, and the space is cleaned each week.

A balance of modern and ancient along the Mediterranean coast, just 60 minutes south of Barcelona.
Home Field: Pobla de Mafumet
Pathfinder has partnered with Club de Fútbol Pobla de Mafumet, a Spanish football club in the autonomous community of Catalonia founded in 1953.  Pathfinder will host it's home games at Estadi Municipal, which has a capacity of 1,700 spectators.
Practice Facilities
Pathfinder's daily practice sessions are held at Institution Turo's facilities.  The facilities include a full size pitch, swimming pool, locker rooms, and multiple futsal courts. 
Dinning Services
Pathfinder's dinning hall is co-located at the University of Tarragona.  It is a regular meeting place for our players, and where our breakfast, lunch and dinner meals are served.
Additional Facilities
Pathfinder facilities also include a pool, futsal courts, basketball court, and modern gym and fitness center access.

RESIDENTIAL

Tarragona shines with its Roman architecture, interwoven with beaches and a fascinating culinary scene. Barcelona is less than 100 km to the northeast, but Tarragona's quaint port city has a lot more to offer than the famous coastal metropolis.

Tarragona contains Many ancient ruins from its time as the Roman colony of Tarraco, but it is also a modern city center with universities and its main avenue 'la rambla nova' is lined with restaurants, tapas bars, shops and apartments.  

The residence hall Rooms are twin studios with climate control, kitchen, private bathroom, television and Wi-Fi, as well as modern facilities which enable you to manage your study time and free time however you like. The residence is located in the city center within walking distance to the beach and train lines.

All players receive memberships to the adjacent gym. The +9000 Square meter facility includes indoor and outdoor pools, sauna, and cross fit.

SPAIN PROGRAMING

All players at Pathfinder, can sign an agency agreement. Our agents initiate close relationships with the players, while actively promoting them to teams within the Spanish market.

The Spanish football market provides the highest opportunity density, with the lowest barrier to entry, for the player aspiring to enter profession ranks. For players with extraordinary potential our network extends to United States, England, Germany, Holland, Portugal, Brazil, Mexico, Argentina and China.

Pathfinder supports collegiate bound players with over 200 years of combined experience in college recruitment, direct exposure through tournaments and ID camps. Our students stand out due to their executive function skills, GPAs, strength of curriculum and a unique worldly exposure.

Pathfinder students join the community at Institucio Turo to pursue classes in years 7 through 12.  At Turo they can pursue a US High School diploma through blended on-line and in person classes, or a Spanish Ministry of Education Baccalaureate degree.  The Baccalaureate classes can be delivered in Spanish or English.

College Placement
Pathfinder's Director of College Placement acts as an agent for college bound students to guide their pursuit of a university opportunity.    Pragmatic advice is provided based on the student athletes potential and goals.  Student athletes are educated on how to run a personal marketing campaign to coaching staff at the universities they desire, attend multiple college showcases, and hosted college IDs.
